Nicolai over at Photon Detector posted a link to some information on variant names for Diana cameras, including my favorite — Future Scientist. In addition to the images I shot with the Lensbaby yesterday, I also shot a roll with a Holga. I buy my hotrodded Holga’s from Randy over at holgamods.com.
There are two photographers on Flickr who work with toy cameras whose images are really not to be missed. Tom Burke lives in Japan, and has some astoundingly beautiful photographs that radiate a quiet sense of mystery. Robert Holmgren lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, and has a mix of travel, street, and documentary work. I have a small set of Holga work on Flickr here, and also a large set of Lensbaby photos.
If you don’t mind me throwing in my two cents, three other toycam artists who consistently blow my mind are Becky Pendel, Brett Harrington, and Chris Keeney.
Future Scientist rocks the most!
Excellent links, Nicolai — thanks!
