Bruce Fraser

Just saw the sad news over on that Photoshop expert and Pixel Genius partner Bruce Fraser is severely ill with lung cancer. Rob Galbraith DPI also has a post, where it’s noted that the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) just gave Bruce the inaugural lifetime achievement award.

As you may have seen in my review of Bruce’s Real World Image Sharpening with Adobe Photoshop CS2 over on The Online Photographer, I’m a longtime fan of Bruce’s writing. I use techniques from Bruce’s books every day, and can’t thank him enough for sharing his expertise. I was going to send him an email after writing the review just to say thanks. I’m going to just say thanks here on my blog instead. Remember to say thanks, folks, our time here is limited.

  1. Just days ago, Bruce was awarded the first Lifetime Achievement Award from the NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals).
In the same week as his life time award, Bruce lost his battle with lung cancer. He passed away on December 16th. I did have the pleasure of looking over his shoulder as he process images. He will be missed.
