Amtrak (#3) — by Joe Reifer
a real beauty (the picture) – I can think of no better illustration of the results of the consume and destroy economy under which we live. There’s a short story welling up beneath the surface of this picture – a story that touches on so many points of failure of our culture.
Where is that?
Hi Mark — Thanks. Definitely a lot of stories in this place — I couldn’t sleep for hours after shooting there — very intense energy.
Paul – This is an Amtrak station in Oakland, CA that has been closed since the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Search for 16th Street Station and you’ll pull up more info.
