Santa Fe: Cross-processed 35mm film in a Holga

Santa Fe (cross-processed 35mm sprocket Holga) -- by Joe Reifer

Kodak E100VS 35mm slide film was shot in a modified 120 format Holga toy camera on the daylight setting (approximately 1/100 f/8). The slide film (normally E-6 process) was developed at a professional lab using negative film chemistry (C-41 process). The resulting negative includes color shifts and fringing around the sprocket holes. Let's review:

  • Crappy camera - check
  • Wrong format film for the camera - check
  • Process film in the wrong chemistry - check

You may be surprised at how much fun you can have doing everything wrong!
