Berkeley Kite Festival: The Death of an Octopus

Every year the Berkeley Kite Wranglers fly a group of magnificent giant octopus kites at the Berkeley Kite Festival. For the 2009 Festival they unveiled a giant white octopus. Not only was the kite beautiful to watch in the air, but when taking the kite down the octopus rapidly tilted back, shriveled up, and hit the ground. The images above were shot using a modified Holga medium format toy camera loaded with 35mm film (aka sprocket Holga, or Sprolga).
