- The trip started off with a sign.
- And then another sign that was the wrong color.
- From the toilet to your tap,
- the fields were wet when I shot the cow.
- Bonsai guy was there. I still think it’s a front.
- The area was improving.
- GAS WAR!!!
- Beautiful fields of green
- in the Tehachapis.
- Rauschenberg billboards, 20 miles to Mojave.
- The S.S. Minow with snow.
- Sidelifter.com
- and the good old Silver Dollar.
- The sunset outside of Barstow,
- and dancing patriotic tax service advertisements.
- Welcome to Mugwumps.
- Welcome to the desert.
- We’re on Route 66 now, East of Barstow.
- The sign says don’t steal.
- Retro railroads, all the red cars say Hyundai.
- One day this will be seen as historic,
- or maybe just buried by lava.
- Quite a display at Amboy,
- and then down through Cima in the Mojave Preserve,
- to see the moonrise at Nipton.
- It’s 22 miles to Searchlight, Nevada.
- To get gas and snacks and lose a few dollars.
- And then back to the wilds
- and open roads
- and into one of the most beautiful places I’ve been.

Wow, I can remember my name.
Nice “The End” here
Is that loosely translated as “Hi, my name is Tom and I like the last picture?”
Awesome set, and now that I know the story of your drive-by shooting technique I’m even more impressed. You should do a post on shooting while driving sometime (as long as your insurance agent doesn’t read your blog).
Yes, he’s almost killed me doing it too.
Oh, don’t exaggerate. I keep it safe and sane.
Into the desert I like it;)
