  1. This is the dilemma of still photography. The place may trump, but it obviously has no meaning whatsoever without the “things” which it contains. For me, this is one of the reasons I’ve started to work with moving images again: there is a more straight forward language for the integration of the two elements. Now if I can get over the “story telling” part.

    1. Hey, Kent. I like both. Telephoto and close-up views that reduce an image to “thing” often don’t work as well for me as wider views that show the “thing in context of place.” That’s complicated enough without 24 of them every second. :)
