A 40-minute exposure of a large metal cutting machine and a movie prop Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department bus. We’ve affectionately nicknamed the cutting machine “the dinosaur,” because the head looks like a T-Rex at times. The dinosaur head gets lower and lower throughout the night due to the release of hydraulic pressure. By the morning it will be on the ground.

Fantastic shot Joe. That little bit of motion blur in the head really adds to it too.
Thanks, Cliff.
Thank you for sending me this link! What a beautiful photograph. I can’t get enough of your extended exposures :]
Thanks, Holli. Looking forward to the interview about the business side of photography next week.
Pretty persuasive images. You and Troy are slowly convincing me to go next time.
Shouldn’t take too much arm twisting, eh?
Hi, Joe.
This is one of the most exciting images I have seen in a long time. Perfectly composed – and ominously threatening!
Thanks, Steve!
