Night Photography: Mare Island Drydock and Cranes Before the Fog Came In

The interior of the Mare Island drydock was getting blasted with moonlight, as well as additional street and city lighting. There is a standard 6 foot chain link fence in front of the drydock. I was able to get the camera over the fence height by extending all 4 leg sections of my Gitzo 3541XLS tripod (current model is the 3542XLS). Comparing the camera position and mood to the image made later that night is interesting. The image above was shot 2 hours earlier, from about 10 feet to the left.
