Mojave Desert night photography: Hi Vista movie location

Unlike the other purpose built film sets in the area, the building in the first photo above was once a functioning store. The small town of Hi Vista (often misspelled High Vista) is located about 20 miles E-NE of Lancaster along the south side of Edwards Air Force Base. Directly across the street from this area is the church that was used in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill. About 5 years ago I photographed the Hi Vista Diner and a nearby church that were used in the Jean-Claude Van Damme film Desert Heat. The diner/cafe and church were apparently torn down in 2008. This movie location website has more information on the Kill Bill church and other films that were made in Hi Vista.
